BECAUSE NOT ALL HOLIDAY PARTIES SUCK
Let’s face it, some holiday parties are ultra lame. We know you know the ones we’re talking about.
First, you plan to show up an hour late so you won’t be the first one there. That way you won’t have to awkwardly stand around trying to make conversation about the weather with some other rando’s cousin whom you’ve never met. Unfortunately, due to the mysterious ways of the universe, you’ll still be the first one there, no matter how much you try to game this system.
Then there is the food. Some people show up with super suspect items, like a lime gelatin mold with shrimp, pineapple, and marshmallows suspended in it. The table is littered with platters of crap, like saltines generously adorned with aerosol cheese and gelatinous deli meats that have started to curl at the edges from sitting untouched all night. It can make you feel as helpless as Nigel in Spinal Tap when he’s confronted backstage with the mini bread catastrophe.
The vibe? BAD. Maybe the host decides to put a vintage basketball bloopers reel up on his 10-inch laptop for everyone’s entertainment instead of cranking some decent tunes. Or, Oops! You spent 3 hours vacillating in front of the mirror trying to decide on an outfit only to discover you are WAY overdressed. Or GROSS, someone with wicked onion breath keeps cornering you in an attempt to get you to buy into their shellfish Ponzi scheme.
Enough is enough with these lame-ass holiday parties that just make you wish it was May 5th already!
We’re talking about one of the most glorious parties of all time: The Battle of Puebla After-Party. (You probably know it as Cinco de Mayo.) Mexico’s underdog victory in this battle was so epic, the after-party has been raging since May 5th, 1862!!
You won’t be the first to show up, because it’s already been going for 159 years.
The food? Ah-mazing. Count us in for traditional grub like mole poblano, chalupas, and chiles en nogada. We also won’t judge if you decide less traditional (yet delicious) nachos, tacos, and margaritas are in order. Know why?
The fabulous vibe! Here in the U.S.A this party celebrates Mexican-American culture. We think that’s something worth celebrating!!! And you don’t even need to worry about your outfit, just pop a pair of these Battle of Puebla After Party shades on and party down!!
KEEP THE PARTY GOING!
